I drank beer in my twenties and shots of peppermint schnapps for a quick buzz. Then 6 nights a week played music for 5 hours and sweated it out, never really got drunk. By 30 I had changed lifestyle and only drank on Saturday nights off, by now only a couple beers and 2 shots max thinking this is what you do when you go out dancing at the bars. I quit drinking anything at 36 when I quit smoking cigarettes due to change of lifestyle. I never considered myself an alcoholic as a hang over was enough for me to quit drinking for weeks. I hated the feeling! Ever since really quitting any drinking of any substance I can have simply a sip of beer or a sip of a margarita and feel the alcohol enter my bloodstream in both my arms. I call it an allergy and just don’t even enjoy any drinks at all because of it. Plus I feel “drunk” after the one sip… am I an alcoholic who doesn’t know I am? I don’t miss it at all. I never liked the taste of hard booze and beers had to be light.?????
And so my question… allergic… or alcoholic???
