I saw your post on “Being Myself” and by following some links, I saw the information on reactions and alergies to Penicillin. When I was 11, way long time ago, I was given Penicillin for some good reason. It turns out that I have a very strong alergy to it and ended up with a severe case of Stephen-Johnson’s Syndrome. I spent a very long time in the hospital at the University of Michigan. It turns out that such severe cases were rare and a good learning tool for the students. I no longer think too much about it unless I see something in print, or my mother gets misty thinking about that time in our lives. I did join a support group but backed out after I realized that it was bringing up some extremely painfull memories. I like to help when I can, but it was having an adverse affect on me. I’ll be 42 this week, and it is still one of the events that have shaped my life. I have never done any drugs as a result, I saw first hand the devistation that something like that can cause. Thank you for the information on all of the alergies.
